Getting Around

It is fairly easy to get around in Gozo thanks to the number of transport services provided. From the Public Transport service which covers the whole island, to the Hop On, Hop Off buses, as well as the introduction of taxi services such as Uber and Bolt, one can easily go from one point to the other in a jiffy.

Buses

Gozo’s white and lime green coloured buses offer the cheapest travel alternative on the island. Bus routes depart from the capital city of Victoria, with the central terminus being situated in Main Gate Street. Gozo Channel Ferry

The Gozo Channel company serves as the main link between the islands of Malta and Gozo, with its services running all year round. Foot passengers usually choose this method of travel, and cars and cargo are mainly transported from the mainland of Malta to the sister island of Gozo via ferry.

Gozo Fast Ferry

The Gozo Fast Ferry is another option for getting to Gozo. Ferries are operated directly from Valletta Malta to Mgarr Harbour Gozo. Two different companies operate this journey, Gozo Fast Ferry and Virtu Ferries Gozo.

Taxis

For maximum comfort, visitors may choose to avail of a taxi service during their stay in Gozo. Taxis here are painted white and carry a taxi sign, and usually stand in allocated bays by the ferry port in Mgarr and in Main Gate Street, Victoria. All taxi fares are metered.

Apart from the traditional white taxis, one can also find other services such as chauffeured taxis, Bolt and Uber.
